Of concern is someone wasting our time by hitting our list with spam. To date (over two years!) there has been none.  Although there has not been much activity to date, there will likely be considerably more in the future.  Therefore, as an additional security measure, if you would please, send a note directly to  host@mhs1966.org  to indicate that you have subscribed along with a bit of information about yourself in our class.  While the request for subscription does ask for your name, this additional measure will help to minimize the possibility of someone/thing  subscribing inappropriately using a classmate's identity.  Note that this may require a bit of back and forth correspondence for verification.  Please be patient as the intent of this is a secure mailing list for members of our class only.  Please don't hesitate to write with any questions or concerns to host@mhs1966.org.

To request a subscription to the list, point your browser to  http://www.scn.rain.com/mailman/listinfo/mhs1966  and follow instructions.  As your email address may not include your name, please provide your real name as it was in High School, when requested.  You will also be asked to provide a password.  Although only the list server (computer) maintains the password (even the list administrator does not have access to it), it is recommended that you choose a password different from any you use for financial or other personal dealings.  If you would like more information about the list server software you can go to  http://www.list.org/index.html.  If you would like more information about the list servers (computers) you can go to  http://www.scn.rain.com/company/.   The servers are owned and operated by a very knowledgeable computer consultant, especially good with security issues, trusted and employed by very significant organizations as shown on their client list: http://www.scnresearch.com/company/clients.html .

Once your subscription has been accepted you will receive a post indicating so.  There after you will be able to read posts by pointing your browser to:  http://www.scn.rain.com/mailman/private/mhs1966/.  You will also be able to post email to the list at  mhs1966@qiclab.scn.rain.com. 

For those posting to the list, please refrain from inappropriate language, references or inferences toward others, etc.  No commercial advertising or campaigning!  One thing the list administrator can do is delete a subscriber!
